The manager of a medical pot shop on Vancouver’s Granville Street says he welcomes more regulation for dispensaries.

The city is proposing tougher zoning and business-licence rules for medical marijuana retailers, which could include making the Granville entertainment district a no-go zone.

But Tyler Shepherd of VanCity Weed says he doesn’t mind moving, and his store is prepared to pay whatever fees the city comes up with.

The city’s proposed rules would require retailers to notify the public before opening a store, pay a 30-thousand-dollar licensing fee and be located at least 300 metres from schools.
