Irene Yatco is the Publisher/Editor-in-chief of Philippine Journal, a Filipino Canadian community newspaper distributed in Vancouver, Canada, with an online edition called “The Settler”.
She was a former director and Vice-President of the Multicultural Helping House Society, a non-profit organization devoted to helping new immigrants settle in Canada. She was a candidate for Member or Parliament in the 2011 federal election for the Conservative Party of Canada.
First and foremost, Irene is an entrepreneur, never hesitant to try and venture into new things. Her innovative and creative mind seeks the viable and lucrative projects and endeavours that would alleviate the deplorable plight of the common person, uplifting their stature in society and situation in life. Irene hosts a one-hour radio program called “Tayo’y Pinoy” every Sunday night at 9:00 pm. She also has an online store called Imartboutique.
Irene works as a community advisor for Dignity Memorial helping people achieve peace of mind through preplanning of their funeral arrangements.
